Amy Horner

MPH, RD, CLC, LN

Nutrition

University of Minnesota, M.S. Public Health Nutrition and Dietics

As a Registered Dietician, Certified Lactation Consultant, and mother of three, Amy brings over two decades of professional and personal experience to the Cozy Nest. Amy has "been there," and loves helping new moms solve problems during a baby's first year. Her knowledge of pediatric nutrition brings with it a nuanced understanding and treatment of challenging situations such as tube feeding and failure to thrive cases.

Recognizing the importance of community and open discussion, Amy assisted in establishing The Cozy Café, a support group for mothers and caregivers offered by The Cozy Nest.

Amy believes in the philosophy of "all foods in moderation," and inspires kids of all ages to practice healthy eating. When not creating fabulous food for her own family, Amy enjoys getting out for solo hikes, exploring new and vibrant places, and writing for publication.

Lacey Lubenow

MOTR/L

Occupational Therapy

Idaho State University, Masters in Occupational Therapy

After accepting my first job as a teacher's aide in a local preschool located in Casper, Wyoming, I knew that I wanted to find a career working with children. I continued to work in preschool settings throughout my schooling at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID accumulating almost 10 years of early childhood experience after graduating with my masters. I strive to make sessions meaningful and motivating for children by incorporating their interests, while still working on skill development needed for goal attainment.

I enjoy the outdoors and spending time gardening, hiking, fishing, and camping with my husband and golden retriever, Duke.

Shad James

PT

Physical Therapy

With twenty-plus years of rich and varied pediatric experience, Shad has worked in rural schools, aquatics, homes, and clinical settings. During that time, he has treated a multitude of diagnoses and focused extensively on orthotic evaluation, casting, and fitting. He treats children as individuals, taking a personal, whole body approach when addressing an issue rather than targeting only the area of concern.

As physical therapy can be a difficult process, Shad uses creative strategies to build trust and identify a child's unique strengths making treatment a productive and playful experience. At the Cozy Nest, Shad promotes "functional fun" and positive reinforcement creating an atmosphere of excitement and encouragement motivating children to work hard and push through the tough times.

Shad is the proud father of six children. He led the Bozeman Wrestling Club as head coach for seven years and supported the Bozeman High wrestling team as an assistant coach for five. Shad likes to mix up his own fitness training by competing in rugged and challenging Spartan Race competitions.
